Meet Amy

In 2021 her life began to change as she put herself out there in the community to connect, contribute and show up as her authentic self. As she connected with more and more supportive women, a passion began to develop inside her- a derise to connect other women! Being connected to a group of strong encouraging women has let me see how exponentially her professional and personal life has developed. In turn, Jah wanted to create that community of women. As Founder + CEO of Sugar Mamas Movement she seeks to facilitate connecting women for the purpose of growth, support and success by coming together as our own richest resources.

For many years Jah tried to do business as an island- alone!

Like a lot of women, Jah spent too many years undervaluing herself and her achievements. "As women, we are encouraged to wrap ourselves in fake modesty and downplay what we have done and what we are capable of. I’ve come a long way from a scared, insecure 23 year old brand new business owner to confident CEO. I hope is to use my experience and knowledge to help other women skip over a lot of the uncertainty and BS! Through reflection and evolution the past two years have been a journey of self discovery and learning so many things about myself, people and life. I’m embracing who I am and I am here for the purpose to help women know their true worth, and to live successfully and unapologetically!"

Introducing Dr. Cherise James, an academic trailblazer with a passion for education and conflict resolution. Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida and a Master's degree in College Student Affairs from Nova Southeastern University, she intricately weaves the realms of communication and conflict analysis. Dr. James ascended to scholarly heights by acquiring a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies with a concentration in Higher Education and a focus on Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Dr. James' collaborative spirit and resolute dedication illuminate the path for a new generation of scholars and change makers on the horizon of higher education.

From her journey in higher education to the Sugar Mamas Movement, she's all about using her smarts to help teams and businesses thrive. Whether she's guiding newbies or teaming up with coworkers and owners, Dr. James is the secret sauce for a drama-free, high-fiving workplace.
