Imagine Someone Being Mad About You Promoting Yourself, Like They Pay Your Bills…

Hey Friend! You may have seen my story yesterday and been like, what’s up? Who is hating, spill the tea! lol! 

Well, let’s just say that story line doesn’t matter so much as this one- 

Anytime you step out and start generating attention, any time you start to do something new or different or outside of the everyday, or even promote yourself (as you should, because YOU are a big deal!) somebody, somewhere is going to feel some type of way about it. You know what they say about a**holes, er, I mean elbows… 

What used to hurt my feelings now fuels my fire, and honestly it amuses the hell out of me. And I think about how I can make it funny or turn it around to help someone. 

But imagine giving that person space to control your life and your decisions, like they have any vested interest in you, your purpose, your income and your overall bad b&*%$ness. What I have figured out is that most people are really feeling some kind of way about themselves, they either lack the confidence to show up boldly or they feel that old green-eyed monster. 

But here is the thing, I am DONE with false modesty. That shit is so 1950s, and I’m not wearing it anymore, its UGLY, its musty and its fake. I’m done downplaying compliments I receive, pretending like I just “threw things together” or that I’m not capable. And a beg you to PLEASE STOP doing it too! Girl, Shine!!! Shine on, that’s when you look the most beautiful! Bask in those compliments, shit, compliment yourself if no one else is! And show up unapologetically, as YOU! 

And let me just say a quick note to the haters out there hating on my girls. Are you going to promote her business, her work, her passion, her project? No? then STFU and sit the f*&% down and let her have her moment. I’ll tell you like I tell my kids, “Worry about your own self.”
