Push Past the Fear

Look, I know it’s scary, to put yourself out there to meet new people, it can be terrifying. But I promise it gets less scary, more comfortable and it begins to come with ease, dare I say even some excitement in learning a new person, and potentially forming a new relationship, all this coming from a reformed introvert.

Man, I used to be so painfully shy, I get it. But the more and more I worked through the fear of speaking up and showing up, the less that fear gripped me. I realized being shy wasn’t my personality, it was the fear that held me back from being who I am.

I’ll tell you, about this time just last year, I attended The Women on the Move Conference, and it was so freeing to be around women that were just out there being themselves, enjoying their time and being comfortable in who they are. The experience was pivotal to me as that’s where I dug deep into my journey of putting myself out there and taking the chance to meet new people, and it has changed my life! I met some of the most inspiring, encouraging and supportive women by working through the fear of just being out there, and  it’s been worth it all.

I’m just saying, give it a try. You might even find your people, who knows? What do you have to lose? But what do you have to gain?
