Find Your People and Hold Them Tight

Friends, 

I’m learning a lot of things since embarking on this new adventure, and mainly its absolutely thrilling! But along the process, I’ve found out the old adage “you’ll find out who your true friends are” has snuck up and surprised me more than ever expected.  During this season of my life, I am learning more and more who my people aren’t, but more importantly who my people are.

To say it’s uncomfortable to not have the return support that you’ve given, often times for so many years, with your mouth, your money, and your loyalty can be painful. Its left me scratching my head, with hurt feelings at times. But then I have to return those feeling for thankfulness. Thankfulness, that I have been able to see so clearly those that are really there for me, and those that can fall off. 

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying to match energy, merely make a note, get your wig on right, use your energy where it is valued and keep it moving, sis! 

Because you know what I do see in this season? My hitters, my ride or dies, my besties, my support, my “I’m gonna be your strength when you can’t be strong for yourself anymore.” Those quick to run to your aid, and make sure you are loving yourself like they love you! Those that stay “hyping the lady up.” Because baby, baby, MY people, MY people don’t miss. 

Looking at the team, family, and friends that I have surrounding me with love, support, strength, hype and HEART are what keep me going. God has always been faithful in placing those people around me, MY people, and I couldn’t do it without them.  

So, the people that don’t see you, don’t support, and don’t believe fall off a lot easier, with a lot less sting, when I look at the riches I have around me. 

I encourage you to pray this prayer. God, gather MY people to me. I promise, he’s faithful.
