Meet Amy
August 2, 2024
It’s that time of year again. Its August and that means back to school is right around the corner. Was it just me or did the summer fly by? Now it’s time to get back to those routines and kiss the relaxed days of summer goodbye (hopefully for you, we never slowed down! lol). If you didn’t already know, I’m a prepper and a planner, and I don’t like being unprepared. Of course, I have already made my to-do list out and thought it might be helpful to share with you mamas! Trust this list is not exhaustive and if you are anything like me, you should not feel as though you have to do everything! Take what’s useful and leave the rest. 1. Purge your house! If you can’t do a full sweep at minimum get your kids rooms decluttered and cleaned before the school year arrives! 2. Inventory your kiddos clothes, toss items they have outgrown and as you go making a running list of needed items: socks, underwear, outerwear, uniforms etc. 3. Want to save the headache of taking your kids shopping for basic items they don’t care about? Measure and weigh them and order online! 1 hour online will save your sanity and a trip to the mall. For shoes, I do recommend getting your kiddos feet properly fitted and get the right shoes for them! 4. Take any items that need altered or repaired to the tailor right meow! 5. Get those school supply lists in your hands today and add them to your walmart or amazon cart- stat! 6. Take your kid back to school shopping for the fun stuff- new backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles and any fun school supplies they want but don’t need. This gives them some excitement and isn’t a stressful trip trying to pick out the exact 3 ring binder they need (see #6). 7. Buy some organization items that will make your life easier this year. Here are a couple of my favorites: This clothes organizer has been a life saver- https://a.co/d/edH63qP These are great for making quick lunches and sandwiches- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW548PT4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 8. Start your Pinterest lunch idea searches now, and fill up that Walmart cart, but don’t get too crazy, they will likely toss half of those healthy lunches in the trash. 9. Hit up Costco & Sam’s and let them pick some of their lunch and snack items for the year. You will get a great idea of what they like! 10. Squeeze in that one last trip or staycation! Have the movie night, let them stay up late, catch those fireflies. Soak up the time with them. And if you are like me and feel like you didn’t have enough time or make the most of your summer, promise yourself and make PLANS to do better next year! I know I will!!! We got this! |
