Meet Amy
November 30, 2024
The entire month of November is giving month at Sugar Mamas, and we are GIVING spotlights to women doing good work in our community contributor series! |
I’m so excited to introduce you to Miehisa Zahorski! Not only is she a Sugar Mama, but a dear friend. She is a mom, Veteran and tireless community volunteer. She has touched many lives through her work with numerous non-profits in Winston-Salem. I am so honored to have her in my life, and she is a true helper. I have invited her to share about non-profits she holds dear and that need your help! |

HHello Beautiful Ladies! I’m so excited to share how I’m involved in our community – and ways you can join, too! Have you heard of Project Blueprint? It’s an amazing board leadership program that prepares minority community members to serve on local boards. I applied last spring, was accepted, and received a stipend for self-development, which helped me join three inspiring boards and deepened my passion for community engagement! One of my favorite initiatives is the Community Coat Closet. Inspired by a mom’s vision for a warmer Winston-Salem, the Closet provides winter wear to those in need through a partnership with SPARK (Share Peace and Rekindle Kindness). Located at 502 N. Broad St., the Closet opens twice a month and even hosts pop-up shops around town. If you’d like to help, I’d be happy to set up a donation bin at your business! Immediate Needs: Men’s coats (sizes L-4XL) and adult-sized gloves. See our Amazon Wishlist. Each item is thoughtfully packaged and delivered with a smiley button for kids, bringing warmth and dignity. For more details on this wonderful group and others I work with, see the attached document. Together, we’re making our community stronger! To Learn more: SPARK Community Coat Closet. That’s a wrap on our first Sugar Mamas community contributor series! A BIG thank you to Miehisa for sharing needs in Winston-Salem! 🩷 Be on the lookout for our next contributor newsletter, coming to your inbox every Friday in November! With So Much Love, Amy 🚨 Psst!
